Quote lifecycle

Create follow-on work from an accepted quote

Use the available booking or invoice workflow after acceptance, while keeping the quote as the commercial record.

An accepted quote can provide the customer and scope context for the next available commercial or operational step.

Steps

  1. Open the accepted quote and confirm the decision, customer, property and scope.
  2. Use the available booking or invoice action that matches the work required.
  3. Review the new record before saving; it remains a separate booking or invoice with its own status and required fields.
  4. Schedule the booking or issue the invoice through its own workflow.

Important

Acceptance does not automatically complete work, collect a deposit or create a payment. Check the separate booking and invoice records after they are created.

Review what carries forward

The customer, property and scope can provide a useful starting point, but the new booking or invoice has its own date, recipient, status and validation. Confirm those details instead of assuming every quote field applies to the next record.

Deposit and billing

If the quote requires a deposit, follow the available deposit invoice and payment workflow. Do not treat quote acceptance as proof that a deposit was paid or that the job is ready to start.
