Roles group permissions so access can be reviewed consistently across employees with similar responsibilities.
Steps
- Open the available Roles area.
- Review the existing role and its permissions before making a change.
- Create or edit a role only when its access pattern is appropriate for more than one employee.
- Add or remove employees through the role controls, then review their expected access.
Important
Use the least access needed for the role. If an employee cannot complete a task, review the relevant permission and workspace feature rather than granting broad administrator access.
Make a targeted change
Go to Onboarding & Employment > Roles when it is available. Review the permission description before enabling it, especially for financial, customer or settings actions.
When an option is missing
An employee may not see an area because the role lacks permission or the workspace feature is not enabled. Check both conditions before changing the role, and avoid using a broad administrator role as a shortcut.
