Invoice delivery is customer-facing, so check the document and selected contact before using Send Invoice.

Steps

  1. Open the invoice and confirm the customer, contact, items, total, due date and terms.
  2. Use Issue Invoice if it is still a draft and ready to leave draft status.
  3. Use Send Invoice and review the recipient details presented by the workflow.
  4. Review the recorded sending or delivery information before contacting the customer about the invoice.

Troubleshooting

If sending is unavailable, check the invoice state and recipient details, then review any visible validation or connection status before retrying.

Issue before sending

A draft must be issued before it can use the normal customer delivery workflow. Confirm the document, recipient, due date and any payment instructions before selecting Send Invoice.

Read the delivery outcome

Use the recorded delivery activity to distinguish a sending attempt from a successful delivery. If it cannot be sent, correct the visible recipient, validation or connection problem and retry the same invoice only when it is appropriate.
