Navigation and redirects affect how visitors reach public content, so review their target before saving a change.

Steps

  1. Open the Website navigation or redirect area available to your role.
  2. Check the destination page, service, blog post or URL is correct and appropriate for public visitors.
  3. Create, edit or remove the navigation item or redirect through the available control.
  4. Save and review the public result through the available preview or published site.

Important

Do not direct public navigation to unpublished, internal or tenant-inaccessible content.

Check the destination

Use navigation for a deliberate public route and a redirect when an old public URL needs a replacement. Confirm that the destination is published, appropriate for visitors and not a private workspace page before saving.

Verify the public result

Use the available preview or published site after the revision workflow completes. If a link does not behave as expected, correct the navigation or redirect record rather than adding multiple competing redirects.
