Website changes are recorded as revisions so the public site changes only through the available review and publication workflow.

Revision states

  • Draft is being prepared.
  • Ready for review is awaiting the relevant review.
  • Approved for publication can be published through the available action.
  • Published, Rejected, Superseded and Rolled back describe later outcomes.

Important

Saving a page does not make it public. Publish only the revision that has been reviewed and is appropriate for the customer-facing site.

Review before publication

Use the available preview to check customer-facing copy, navigation, media, links and SEO fields. A revision can be saved as a draft or sent for review without appearing on the public website.

Understand later states

A published revision is the public version. A rejected revision needs changes, while superseded and rolled-back revisions preserve the record of later publication decisions rather than becoming the current public page.
