SEO and visibility fields describe how a public page is presented to visitors and search services. They should match the page's actual purpose and public status.

Steps

  1. Open the page or public content record.
  2. Review the title, description and URL fields available in the editor.
  3. Review the canonical, index and sitemap options where they are provided.
  4. Save the change and follow the revision approval and publication workflow.

Important

Do not set a canonical URL or indexing option merely to force search results. Keep the value aligned with the authoritative public page.

Make each field match the page

Use a clear title and description that describe the customer-facing page. Use canonical, indexing and sitemap controls only when their meaning is understood and the public URL is the authoritative version.

Publish is still separate

Saving SEO fields changes the revision or draft; it does not publish a page. Preview the result and complete the available review and publication workflow before expecting search services or visitors to see the change.
